If the land where this food came from could speak, what would it say about loss? About joy?

Prompt

Think about how this land has changed—politically, environmentally, culturally. What memories might the soil hold? Who has harvested its ingredients across generations? What has been taken, and what remains rooted?

Food can tell a story that borders cannot contain.

Prompt

Write about a dish that exists across different cultures or regions. What does it reveal about shared histories, contested narratives, or blended identities?

Describe the first food that ever made you feel like you belonged somewhere.

Prompt

What about that food made you feel a sense of belonging—was it the flavor, the company, the setting, or something else? How did it connect you to others, or to yourself? Did it feel like a homecoming or a discovery?

Starvation as a Weapon: Gaza’s Ongoing Siege

Gaza is currently enduring one of the worst man-made hunger crises in recent memory. Since March 2025, the occupation’s restrictions have blocked nearly all humanitarian food into the region, pushing over half of Gaza’s 2.1 million residents into high-risk starvation conditions. This starvation is not a byproduct of war—it is being used as a method of siege and control. If you are able, please consider donating to this amazing organization supporting soup kitchens in Gaza.
