Antigone Not All Forgotten

Diamond deer skull on a post
jawless as most
everything is

teeth of my teeth
plaster

cast of my mammal mouth made
to guard its gears from grinding down

comical on
my little son’s window ledge

Haio bitten dawn

This skull on the edge
of a seems-private
road (passing driver doesn’t wave to me)
through a private century

I remove and
cover in fallen leaves on the ground
in my many-times-reglued boots made

for trespassing on the way down.
